How Water Kinetics Eco-Duo pipe-within-a-pipe system protects against pathogen development

The build-up of pathogens in plumbing systems is a problem faced by many pipework systems around the world, affecting large systems where it is most unwanted. If given the right conditions to develop, pathogens such as Legionella and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa wreak havoc on environments designed to protect people at their most vulnerable, with hospitals being acutely susceptible to infectious outbreaks. The arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic only demonstrated the increasing importance of hygiene in public and private sectors.

Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is one of many deadly water-borne pathogens which has seen a surge in infection rates over the past decade. This bacterium primarily affects the blood, lungs, and other body parts after surgical procedures. Legionella, another water-borne pathogen, has similar effects on the body, coupled with other symptoms such as muscle-aching. This is alarming, as pathogens can develop antibiotic resistance given enough time. In medical situations, contracting either infection may result in serious harm - or death - resulting from a weakened immune system.

Our ingenious Eco-Duo pipe-within-a-pipe system protects against the development of deadly pathogens such as Legionella and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa three-fold. Firstly, the material that we use is naturally antimicrobial copper pipes, as opposed to PVC pipe material which requires a coating. Secondly, Eco-Duo continuously moves water throughout the system as it eliminates dead legs, protecting against pathogen build up by routing water so that it cannot be stationary within the system, which allows for pathogens to thrive. As a result of our copper usage and continuous flow of water, our system maintains a stable temperature throughout the system, further protecting and removing the environment in which pathogens grow and spread.

With Eco-Duo, you can be sure your system is safe from infectious diseases and bacteria build-up.
